1. The Re-enactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek
June 1 & 2
Battlefield House Museum & Park
Re-live the historic battle that was the turning point of the War of 1812 at this free weekend event, packed with hands on activities. Mingle with early 19th century settlers and soldiers at their encampment, shop among one-of-a-kind merchants, see historic cooking, blacksmithing and dancing demonstrations, and a spectacular fireworks display (Saturday evening).
2. D-Day Commemorative Events
Various Dates & Locations across the City
There are several major commemorative events to honour the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy across the city. These include an Anniversary Gala at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum accompanied by the world-famous Glenn Miller Orchestra (June 1), The Longest Day: Remembering D-Day aboard Parks Canada's HMCS Haida (June 6); and a free family friendly event honouring the 100th Anniversary of Decoration Day and the 75th anniversary of the D-Day at the Hamilton Military Museum next to Dundurn Castle (June 9).
3. 2019 RBC Canadian Open
June 3 – 9
Hamilton Golf & Country Club
World class golf and incredible music, food and culture will collide at Hamilton's historic Canadian Golf & Country Club for the prestigious golf tournament. The RBCxMusic series will feature Grammy-nominated duo, Florida Georgia Line (FGL) and the JUNO winning rock band, The Glorious Sons performing right on the green. The Hamilton Fare Way will also feature some of Hamilton's leading restaurants, local music acts and artist-designed mini putt.
4. Dundas International Buskerfest
June 7 – 9
Downtown Dundas Shopping District
World class performers from around the globe will gather in the historic community of Dundas for three days unforgettable entertainment. Local vendors, crafters and food, alongside hands on family fun, help round out this favourite annual event.
5. Historic City – Walking Tour
Tourism Hamilton Visitor Information Centre (Lister Building)
Explore Hamilton's fascinating and historic downtown on this monthly guided walking tour led by volunteer tourism ambassadors of the Lady Hamilton Club. Stops will include buildings dating up to the year 1900. Stick around for a memorable evening during the city's monthly Art Crawl along James Street North.
6. Liquid Art Festival
June 14 & 15
Collective Arts Brewing
Celebrate international beer, art and music at Hamilton's famous Collective Arts Brewery. The two-day festival features emerging artists and art galleries, live art-making, screen printing, buskers, food trucks, a beer dinner, an international bottle shop, live music and more than 50 innovative brewers from around the world.
June 15 & 16
Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum
Bring dad and the whole family to Canada's largest flying museum this Father’s Day weekend for an unforgettable aviation experience. Many of the museum's vintage aircraft will be flown throughout both days with discounted aircraft rides available. The museum's rare Lancaster bomber is also scheduled to fly daily.
8. Escarpment Train Exhibit
June 15 & 16
Royal Botanical Gardens
All aboard the Royal Botanical Gardens’ newest “G scale” model train experience, taking you on a journey through four seasons of whimsical Canadian landscapes while telling the story of how railroads shaped our history. See late 1800s steam engines, 1930s streamliners, and powerful modern diesels of the 1960s up to present day. Stick around and explore Canada's largest botanical gardens.
9. The National with guests Alvvays
Supercrawl presents a unique outdoor performance at Hamilton's beautiful Pier 8 at the West Harbour by The National. The acclaimed band is on tour to promote their new album, I Am Easy To Find.
10. It’s Your Festival
June 29 – July 1
If you're visiting Hamilton during the Canada Day long weekend, be sure to stop by the city's beautiful Gage Park in the east end to experience this free, popular local festival. Music headliners are joined by food and craft vendors and families can enjoy midway rides and a Canada Day ceremony.
