Billie Said, 'Strange Fruit' by Farihah Aliyah Shah is a virtual exhibition presented by Centre3. The exhibit uses self-portraiture and simple installations to respond to the Black Lives Matter Movement and previous civil rights movements to advocate for justice and equality through photography.
The artist, originally from Edmonton, Alberta now based in Bradford, Ontario, uses photography, video, and sound installation to explore identity through the colonial gaze, race, land, and collective memory.
