Many people don’t understand why or how others become addicted to drugs. Drugs change the way a brain works, and in doing so ruin and end lives. This photographic exhibition showcases members of our community whose lives have been altered by drug addiction and who are willing to share their story. Each narrative is complicated, but the lens through which we see drug addiction is very narrow. Shifting Focus offers a broader perspective on drug addiction, through the lenses of a dozen local photographers and accompanied by biographical text. Its intention is to provoke conversation and expand our understanding of an issue that affects so many of us.
