All too often, the “fast food” we’re presented with is so focused on fast, they forget about it being food, sacrificing flavour and quality. We felt it was time to correct that. The result was Bench Kitchen. That first location has since grown to the Eat at Bench Kitchen family, with our most recent addition, 193 Bench Kitchen. Rather than using prepackaged sauces and dressings we build all of our menu items from scratch. We source sustainably farmed ingredients. We then carefully prepare them into delicious gourmet sandwiches, bread, soups, salads, pastries, jams, chutneys and so much more. All of the meats in our sandwiches are all sustainably raised and antibiotic and hormone free. Our poultry is all certified organic. All processing of the meats are done in house and some days our smoker gets quite a workout! We combine many modern techniques such as sous-vide cooking and compression infusion with traditional practices such as dry curing and cold smoking to create sandwich fillings and salads that are wholesome and flavourful.
