Great Meeting and Convention Facilities

In downtown Hamilton, Ontario, there are three outstanding dedicated meeting facilities for large conventions, trade shows and sport events:

  • The Hamilton Convention Centre by Carmen’s,
  • Hamilton Place and
  • FirstOntario Centre (formerly Copps Coliseum).

These facilities are ready to serve small and large groups alike, with full in-house food and beverage services, as well as experienced and dedicated staff to assist with every planning detail. If your group is looking for a special “off-site” meeting or special event venue, Hamilton offers plenty of choice. Hamilton: Accommodating your delegates

In downtown Hamilton there are over 500 hotel rooms in two properties: The Sheraton Hamilton Hotel and the Crowne Plaza Hotel. These hotels have meeting facilities, food and beverage services as well as dedicated sales and catering staff ready to serve your groups. There many hotel & motel locations as well as 20 B&B locations which each have their own charm.

Hamilton: Covering your event

Hamilton’s strategic location in the middle of Canada’s most populous region offers the country’s greatest concentration of media. With more than seventy television stations, over thirty radio stations and eight daily newspapers, the availability of media increases the likelihood and quality of media coverage of your convention.

Hamilton: Dining

Dining is always an important part of every convention and sport event. Hamilton’s restaurateurs are ready to satisfy each delegate’s palate. Whether downtown, on the ‘mountain’ or in one of the city’s many neighbourhoods, there is a variety of cafes, pubs and restaurants, covering a generous range of tastes, price points and styles.

Hamilton: Shopping

Located throughout Hamilton are special shopping districts, each offering a variety of shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants. Whether your delegates are looking to find a special gift to take home, or want to spoil themselves, Hamilton has a store that can meet their needs. The city is also home to several shopping malls that offer brand-name retailers.

Hamilton: Beyond the Meeting Room

When your delegates or their spouses are looking for special tours, or to fill in their “down time”, Hamilton offers a number of attractions and activities, all just minutes from the key accommodation locations. Cultural experiences include:

Outdoor experiences include hiking and cycling along hundreds of kilometers of trails from Hamilton’s west harbour and waterfront to rail trails to the Dundas Valley to the renowned Bruce Trail that runs through the Niagara Escarpment, the United Nations designated world’s biosphere reserve. Hamilton’s many parks and scenic outlooks, such as Sam Lawrence Park, Devil’s Punch Bowl, and Webster’s Falls make for wonderful afternoon sojourns. In the summer months, delegates can also enjoy a view from Hamilton Harbour by taking a cruise on the Harbour Queen.

Sport experiences include taking in a Hamilton Tiger-Cat game, a Hamilton Bulldogs hockey game at FirstOntario Centre or a Dundas Real McCoys game. There are always exciting university and college games being played at McMaster University and Mohawk College. Hamilton also hosts numerous special sport events each year.
